Ball Bearings

Ball bearings consist of an inner and outer ring which a series of balls ride within, along the raceway grooves. They support rotating shafts and minimize friction between shafts and stationary machine components. Deep groove ball bearings have deep raceway grooves in the inner and outer rings to accommodate radial and axial loads in both directions. Angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer raceway grooves that are angled to each other with respect to bearing axis to handle greater axial loads. Self-aligning ball bearings consist double rows of balls, have an inner ring with two raceway grooves, and an outer ring with a common spherical raceway groove to manage misalignment which may happen due to shaft deflection or mounting errors. Thrust ball bearings are designed specifically for accommodating heavy axial loads but they must not be subjected to any radial load. Insert bearings enable quick and easy mounting onto the shaft. Thin section bearings are designed to save weight, use less space and increase design flexibility. Miniature ball bearings are small sized ball bearings, up to 30mm in external diameter.
